TV5 Monde, stylized `` TV5MONDE '', initially TV5, is an international French-speaking generalist television channel created on January 2, 1984. Headquartered in Paris, it is owned jointly by public audiovisual companies from France, Belgium, Switzerland, Canada and Quebec. TV5 Monde is one of the world's three largest television networks. It broadcasts 9 distinct regionalized signals, as well as two thematic channels dedicated to the Art of Living (HD Style) and Youth (Tivi5monde). TV5 Qu bec Canada is also part of the network, but is the property of the Consortium de t l vision Qu bec-Canada. As an operator of the International Organization of the Francophonie (OIF), TV5 Monde provides a free and interactive multimedia portal for learning and teaching French. It broadcasts in French, subtitled in 14 languages on terrestrial, satellite, cable, IP television and the Web. It is also available in hotels, airlines, railways and shipping. Available in 354 million households across 200 countries, TV5 Monde was watched each week by 60 million viewers in 2017 (weekly cumulative audience).
