Paul Pope is an American cartoonist, artist, and designer living and working in New York City. His DC Comics miniseries Batman: Year 100 won two Eisner Awards and regularly appears on “Top Ten” lists of best Batman stories. He has won four Eisners in total. His Flash Gordon-inspired comic, Strange Adventures, also from DC COmics, won the National Cartoonist Society's Reuben Award for Best Comic Book of the year for 2010. That year also saw Pope named a Master Artist by the Atlantic Center for the Arts. Pope is currently working on Battling Boy, a 500 page YA epic published by First Second. The first of two Battling Boy volumes debuted at #1 on the NY Times book list.
