Since May 2007, Bernard Piette has been the director of Logistics in Wallonia, the transport and logistics competitiveness cluster recognized under the Marshall Plan. The role of the cluster is to develop networking for transport and logistics players in Wallonia, stimulate and support the implementation of innovative projects and promote the logistics assets of Wallonia abroad . Logistics in Wallonia has about 230 members. Previously, Bernard Piette worked for 10 years at the Chamber of Commerce of Liège and 4,5 at the Chamber of Commerce of Maastricht in the field of business internationalization.
With nearly 200 members, Logistics in Wallonia is the reference organization for the development of logistics activities in Wallonia. Logistics in Wallonia performs three missions: 1. clustering to bring together players in the sector such as carriers, shippers, service providers, infrastructure managers and training players 2. stimulation and support for the setting up of innovative projects in the framework of competitiveness clusters set up by the Walloon Region 3. promotion abroad in order to attract investors and project leaders in the logistics sector in Wallonia
